THE CARD

A quick tour of Flash Reproductions, a pile of samples and paper swatches, scribbled ideas, phone calls, and many mutterings of ‘This is ridiculous!’ regarding the grandiose scope, produced the Crazy Business Card. Weighing in at a mere $6.10 per card (a typical business card is about $0.40), this card is 6 layers thick, with a diecut window exposing a foil-stamped logo on clear plastic (Flash is one of the few shops who can print on plastic), which hovers 3 layers above a mirrored foil paper — giving the logo a hovering shine. Doesn’t fit in your wallet? That’s okay because the back is adorned with an easel stand to conveniently display your card on your desk so you can easily call Broken Fence Communication for all your creative service needs. Limited edition cards available house a small gem in the window portion for extra sparkle and auditory dimension. On the cutting room floor

With every project, there are sacrifices. This project had some serious time constraints, therefore a couple features did quite make it to the finished product. The favourite being white flocked dots on the front of the card that would’ve added a nice texture to the card.

Flocking: powdered wool or cloth, sprinkled on wallpaper, cloth, or metal to make a raised pattern
